Madison - New Years Eve, 2008
0905: Photo of the Madison City skyline taken New Year’s Eve, 2008 taken from Olin Park. This is an unusual shot in that there were no cranes present at this time. This is a High Dynamic Range (HDR) photo. An HDR photo involves taking multiple photos at different exposures, and then combining them using special software (here I am using Photomatix Pro). An HDR image allows you to see detail in both the very light and very dark areas of the photgraph. This image is a combination of 24 photos: it is a panorama of 3 stitched photos, each of which is comprised of 7 photos at different exposures. Another 3 photos of the fireworks were added. All the photos were taken on New Year’s Eve.
The photo is also available without the fireworks. In this case I have also removed the the red light and tower.
