0903: An HDR image of the Capitol, Madison, WI, looking up Martin Luther King Avenue. An HDR (High Dynamic Range) photo involves taking multiple photos at different exposures, and then combining them using special software (here I am using Photomatix Pro). An HDR image allows you to see detail in both the very light and very dark areas of the photgraph.
The dome of the capitol is lit up different colors for different occasions throughout the year. One day in March the dome was lit pink for Breast Cancer Awareness.
